The Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM-CNR) was created for the development of membrane science and technology at national and international level, after the reorganization of the Italian Research National Council scientific network.


The Institute Headquarter is located at the University of Calabria, Rende (CS) with a unit at the University of Padova.

Director of the Istitute since its foundation (1993) until 30 November 2008: Prof. Enrico Drioli.

Director ad interim from December 1st, 2008 to May 15, 2009:

Dr. Angelo Bruno Basile

New Director of the Institute since May 16, 2009:

Dr. Lidietta Giorno.
