Biographical Sketch:

Researcher at CNR-ITM with degree in Biology since 2000. He has a long experience in the field of membrane science and technology with research expertise including pressure-driven membrane processes, membrane contactors and integrated membrane operations mainly applied to wastewater treatments and agro-food productions.

He is involved as scientific responsible or main investigator in different national projects with both Italian Ministry of Education, University & Research and private companies and international projects funded by EU.

He is member of Editorial board of scientific Journals and co-author of 6 books, more than 90 peer-review scientific papers published in international journals, 31 book chapters, various invited lectures and several contributions at scientific conferences on membrane science and engineering. He is also co-author of two national patents on membrane science and technology.

Main fields of research:

  • Membranes and integrated membrane operations in agro-food production and industrial wastewater treatment
  • Recovery of bioactive compounds from agro-food byproducts by membrane-based operations
  • Separation/concentration/purification of target compounds of industrial interest by membranes
  • Membrane distillation and osmotic distillation
  • Remediation and pollution control of industrial wastewater by membrane operations.
