Biographical Sketch

Born in Sapri (Italy) in 1986, he received a degree in Pharmacy (with honours) in 2009 from the University of Calabria and obtained his Ph.D. at the same University in 2013. From 2010 to 2019 he has been working as a research fellow at ITM-CNR where he has been appointed a full-time researcher in July 2019. In addition, from 2013 to 2019 he has been an adjunct professor in the course of general chemistry at the University of Calabria. From 15/10/2018 to 26/10/2018 he was a visiting researcher at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Germany). In 2019, he was awarded the “seal of excellence” by the European Commission for the high-quality project proposal submitted under the Horizon 2020’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions call. He has participated in several international EU-funded projects and is the author of more than 40 scientific articles in international journals, 2 international patents, 11 book chapters and more than 50 contributions in national and international conferences.

Main fields of research:

  • Preparation of polymeric membranes in flat and hollow fiber configuration with new sustainable routes;
  • Preparation of anti-fouling and self-cleaning catalytic coatings based on polymerizable bicontinuous microemulsions;
  • Chemical-physical characterization of polymeric membranes;
  • Microfiltration and ultrafiltration processes;
  • Pervaporation process for the separation of azeotropic mixtures, aroma recovery, solvent dehydration
